Raritan Valley Community College Cosmetology students recently gained first-hand experience in hair coloring during a February 18 trip to New York City’s Wella World Studio. The studio is an international training center for Wella, an industry partner of RVCC’s Cosmetology program. During their studio visit, the students received hands-on training in the latest coloring trend: hair painting. The students also learned about other career opportunities in the cosmetology industry in such areas as product expertise, manufacturing, instruction and marketing.
RVCC’s Cosmetology program features an accomplished teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, a progressive student salon, pro-active job placement for graduates and other components critical to student success. Employment in the field is predicted to increase by 20 percent through 2018, according to information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
