The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in Branchburg will present the Golden Dragon Acrobats inCirque Ziva, Friday, April 10, at 7 p.m. The presentation is part of the Theatre’s Major Artists series.
Danny Chang and his Golden Dragon Acrobats continue their relentless, 30-plus year US touring schedule of a centuries-old Chinese art form. Since 1985 the artists remain the only Chinese acrobatic company touring year-round in the United States, presenting over 200 performances annually. In 2005, their Broadway debut and seven-week run at the New Victory Theater earned two prestigious New York Drama Desk Awards nominations (Angela Chang for Best Choreography and Danny Chang for Most Unique Theatrical Experience). The company's 2013 appearance at The Theatre at RVCC still ranks as an all-time audience favorite. This year the group brings us an all new performance.
Broadway World has written about the acrobats: “This unique cirque spectacular showcases traditional Chinese acrobats who dazzle with amazing feats of athleticism, daring heart-stopping stunts and the grace of their centuries-old art form.”
The performance features reserved seating. Tickets cost $25 and $35. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the Box Office, 908-725-3420, or order online at www.rvccArts.org.
