Comedy Pet Theater to Perform for Families at RVCC

The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will present a performance of the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater,Saturday, April 18, at 7 p.m. The evening is part of the Theatre’s Family series, specially designed for audience members ages eight and older and their families.

The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a family-oriented blend of the unique comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich, together with the extraordinary talents of his performing pets. Each of the show’s 15 cats and 10 dogs were once strays who were rescued from animal shelters. The group also includes four geese, eight white doves, and two parrots—all of which show off onstage by performing a variety of stunts and skits.

Audience members will be charmed by this extravaganza of European-style clowning, amazing juggling and balancing acts—and of course, some very talented performing pets. Not to be missed are the skits that include the funny wiener dog, trained geese, dog football, Dr. Doolittle, brave parrots and pet fire marshals.

The New York Times has called the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater “purr-fect,” while People magazine has described it as “genius.”
