Golden Lions Drop a Pair

The RVCC Golden Lions Baseball team opened Region 19 Conference play hosting the Falcons of Lackawanna College.

Jendry Seijas took the mound in the first game for RVCC going 5 and 2/3 innings, with 3 K's and giving up 8 hits. After a slow start, the offense picked up in the 6th lead by Sophomore Mike Kromar who had a big day going 2 for 3 with a double and 1 run scored. Kromar coupled with 6 other Golden Lions with a hit apiece helped RVCC battle back to make it a 10-5 ballgame.

The Golden Lions went with Rob Silvestre to start Game 2.  Silvestre did an excellent job of keeping the Falcons' bats guessing and was able to change speeds and locate his pitches throughout the day.  Game 2 turned into a pitcher's duel and the score was 1-0 heading into the 5th inning.  Lackawanna was able to tack on a couple additional runs with the final score of 5-0 to the visitors.  The Golden Lions really battled throughout the day and remained within striking distance both games verse a traditional Northeast power.  RVCC travels to the County College of Morris on Thursday April 2 for a 3pm single-game.
