Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will host an art show and reception to benefit “52 Reasons to Love a Vet,” April 22, at 6 p.m. The event, which is open to the public, will be held in the Conference Center at the College’s Branchburg Campus.
52 Reasons to Love a Vet is a project that raises funds for returning veterans who are awaiting government support benefits. During the event the project’s first award of $500 will be presented to Combat Paper NJ, a Branchburg-based arts program that solely assists veterans.
The evening will include a display of original artwork from 52 Reasons to Love a Vet. Limited-edition prints, books and playing cards will be available for purchase and a silent auction will be held. All proceeds will benefit the project, with a portion of funds dedicated to scholarship support for veterans attending Raritan Valley Community College.
52 Reasons to Love a Vet was created by Ella Rue, Director of Marketing for Academic Programs at New Jersey City University, and is a program of the Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation. It is established to provide monetary awards of up to $1,000 to eligible veterans of the U.S. Armed Service in order to help facilitate their ability to pursue healthcare and dental needs; wellness and fitness programs; and educational opportunities.
Admission to the event is $25 person. Tickets can be purchased online at https://hunterdonhealthcare.thankyou4caring.org/52reg. For additional information, contact David W. Harkness, Director of Government & Community Affairs, 908-788-6359, or visit www.52reasonstoloveavet.org.
