RVCC Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform

Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert Thursday, April 30, at 8 p.m. The performance will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg Campus.

The group is directed by John Loehrke of New York City.

The ensemble will perform pieces by a variety of jazz artists, including Thelonious Monk, Freddie Hubbard, Duke Ellington, and Kenny Dorham. The group also will perform music from the great American songbook, featuring work by composers Kurt Weil, Anthony Newly, and Irving Berlin. The band also will present a jazz treatment of the pop song “All About That Bass.”

The group includes the following members: Keith Bernstein, Max Bradley, Nicholas Blue, Branchburg; Jonathon Andersen, Dylan Hurilla, Hillsborough; Eliana Johnson, Clinton; Vinnie Bickar, Jason Zujkowski, Manville; Justice Thyselius, Washington; James Conrad, South Plainfield; Jonathan Levering, Dean Ingram IV, Flemington; and Steven Pettinelli, Alpha.

The RVCC Theatre offers a RVCC Family Discount (students, faculty and staff) for 50% off on up to four tickets per performance. The discount can be bought with a RVCC ID at the box office or through the Lion’s Den. This discount applies to all shows presented by RVCCArts (rvccarts.org) except those presented at noon for $10.
