RVCC to Hold Cosmetology Information Session

Area residents interested in learning more about Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Cosmetology program are invited to attend an upcoming Information Session on Tuesday, June 9, from 5:30-7 p.m. The event will be held at RVCC’s Bridgewater site (Room 201), located at 14 Vogt Drive.

Prospective students will have an opportunity to tour the salon, meet with the faculty, watch hair coloring demonstrations, meet current cosmetology students, and explore potential career options in the fast-growing field of cosmetology.

RVCC’s program features an accomplished teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, and opportunities for job shadowing and salon practicum. The program offers pro-active job placement for graduates and other components critical to student success. Employment in the field is predicted to increase by 20 percent through 2018, according to information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The next full-time Cosmetology program begins September 1. Financial aid and industry scholarships are available for those who qualify. Students interested in attending the Cosmetology Information Session should contact Marcia Bird, 908-526-1200, ext. 8618.
