RVCC to Offer New Tax Preparer Certificate Program

Beginning in the Fall 2015 Semester, Raritan Valley Community College will offer a new program for students interested in employment in the field of tax preparation. The Tax Preparer Certificate of Completion provides the foundation necessary to prepare individual income taxes, aid in preparation of partnership and corporation returns, and effectively design accounting systems to integrate smoothly with tax schedule preparation.

The two-semester program is also beneficial as an additional credential for accountants.

Students will learn about basic accounting principles and tax regulations and obtain practical experience preparing tax returns for the public. The 22-credit certificate will include courses in Financial Accounting, Tax Accounting, Accounting Systems and Software, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and more.

For information about the new program, contact Bill Black, RVCC Professor of Accounting, 908-526-1200, ext. 8545 or wblack@raritanval.edu. For additional information, contact the Admissions Department at 908-526-1200 or admissions@raritanval.edu.
