Raritan Valley Community College Ophthalmic Science students Caroline Stern of Highland Park and Jennifer Sipe of Westfield have been named recipients of the Norman Snedeker/OANJ memorial scholarship from the Opticians Association of New Jersey (OANJ).
The $500 scholarships are named in memory of Norman Snedeker, a New Jersey optician who bequeathed funds to the OANJ in order to assist students in their optical education. The competitive scholarships are offered annually to students with high averages. Students also must submit essays and demonstrate financial need in order to be considered for the scholarships.
